Abstract/Contents:"The morphology, flowering behaviour and esterase genotype was examined for six F₂ progenies of hybrids between the two main variants of Poa annua L. (namely, annual-erect and perennial-prostrate). The association of flowering time with leaf and tiller morphology and Est 1 allozyme genotype, previously described for the two variants in populations from Burgundy, was fully broken in the F₂ generation, indicating that no linkage blocks were involved. Whether selection maintains the association of isozyme genotype and growth form is discussed."
