| Abstract/Contents: | Presents the results of a study examining the effects of sand topdressings on disease occurrence on golf greens with three different root zone mixes. Dollar spot was found to be more common in greens with sand-based rootzones, while yellow tuft disease was more common in native soil greens, regardless of sand topdressing. It was also found that, in creeping bentgrass golf greens with a 1.25 sand topdressing layer, 54% of the roots were growing in the topdressing layer regardless of the original root zone content of the green. |
