Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the challenges involved with sports turf research. Describes research designed to create a cool-season, stoloniferous turfgrass that can be mowed between 1 and 2.5 inches for sports turf. Discusses the potential of a stoloniferous supina bluegrass (Poa supina), which is being researched at Michigan State University. Also discusses challenges associated with surface drainage, sand surfaces, and topdressing. |
