| Abstract/Contents: | Data on heading dates of timothy and Poa pratensis at Hvanneyri in 1960-71 were examined in relation to mean temperature. The regression obtained for timothy was y = 67.6-7.44x where y was the heading date counted from 20 June and x was mean temperature in deg C in May and June, and for P. pratensis y = 38.3-4.61x where y was the heading date counted from 1 June and x was mean temperature in May. From these regressions maps were constructed showing probable mean heading dates on the basis of long-term temperature records for 44 sites. |
