Abstract/Contents: | Describes suggestions for rebuilding sports turf given by Mark L. Altman, president of Altman & Altman Consulting, Marshall, Mn. Altman suggests knowing what sports events will be played and how often, and also the physical make up of the field. Other factors include: soil, whether there is enough money to amend the whole field, or available equipment. Also discusses rainouts, monitoring the rough grade, laser grades for accurate final grades, proper irrigation, and finally hiring the right crew for the job. |
