Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the "Cactus League" of Major League Baseball teams in Arizon and its growing popularity. Many teams share a complex to reduce costs. The Chicago White Sox and the Arizona Diamondbacks share Electric park during spring training and during the summer it is home to The Diamondbacks farm team. Tifway 419 Bermuda grass was used on the main field and the 11 practice fields and areas around the stadium to prevent seed differentiation and keep the turf healthier in the long run at the request of the White Sox. Every 1,000 tons of root zone mix was tested in a lab before being shipped to the park and the field was laser leveled. |
