Abstract/Contents: | Presents the results of research examining the uptake of nitrogen fertilizers by thatch. Examines the relative quantities of nitrogen found in the various components of thatch. The amount of nitrogen found in the thatch suggests that the living part of thatch is an active source of nitrogen uptake for the plant, and that measurement of nitrogen uptake and efficiency using clippings alone may not be accurate. |
