| Abstract/Contents: | Reviews causes of 'summer stress syndrome' in turfgrass, which leads to a decline in turf condition. Describes how lack of air movement across greens can lead to the eventual death of the plants. Also describes research conducted at Michigan State University to control summer stress syndrome with a fungicide program. The research has shown that Aliette Signature in combination with Daconil Ultrex, Thalonil, Fore, Chipco GT, or Protect results in denser turf and deeper roots on the greens. Emphasizes that the key to a successful program is starting early. |
