Abstract/Contents: | Provides an answer to the question: How are pin locations determined? Suggests that most superintendents use an 18-cup rotation that allows for six holes in the front, six in the middle, and six in the back, with nine holes on each side of the green, or a 21-cup rotation to allow for three weeks of recovery for each cup hole. Presents reasons why greens may seem to have difficult pin placement including, the contours of greens on older courses, and the return of hand mowers has allowed hazards to be moved closer to the greens. |
