Abstract/Contents: | Examines issues and misconceptions about what affects water quality. Topics discussed include point source pollution, non-point source pollution, sediment problems in lakes and streams, stream bank erosion, and excessive nutrients in water. Describes how nitrogen and phosphorus can affect water quality and enter water systems from turfgrass areas. Concludes that golf courses are not a major source of water pollution in North Carolina. |
