Abstract/Contents: | Discusses TournamenT Quality standards for perennial ryegrass set by the Perennial Ryegrass Bargaining Association, a network of Oregon seed growers and dealers. Compares TournamenT Quality ryegrass seeds to Certified ryegrass seeds. The Certified label allows for 45 noxious weed seeds per pound, up to 0.5% by weight of poa annua seeds, and up to 0.5% by weight of coarse grasses. TournamenT Quality standards do not permit any of these. Suggests that when comparing the bottom line price for seed, TournamenT Quality seeds will cost less in the long run when considering the risk of weed contamination and unwanted grasses. |
