Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the ecology of a landscape and how it can tell the story of the land. Animals and river features or structures are discussed and their importance to the land. Sediment transport and water levels also play a key role in the landscape of the area. Erosion control at construction sites have the same principles as, the river flowing water will pick up the sediments and depositing them when it can no longer carry them. Reading the landscape indications of flow and deposition can help in knowing the general water patterns and erosion in an area or help determine where water flows. Also includes information about source zones, transport zones, and deposition zones and their role in the story of water over time. |
