Abstract/Contents:Presents the results of a study conducted to determine the effectiveness of insecticide applications to combat the Southern chinch bug on St. Augustinegrass. Insecticidal spray tests, drench tests, and topical tests were performed on the adult, nymph, and egg stages of the Southern chinch bug. Adults and nymphs were killed by all three insecticide tests, but the eggs were only killed during the topical test using chlorpyrifos. Suggests that the egg stages showed the highest survival rates due to their protected locations.
