Abstract/Contents: | Discusses cultural methods to help prevent snow mold damage on sports fields. Methods include: minimize thatch, avoid succulent growth in late fall, improve air circulation, remove excess water, avoid compaction, and use windbreaks and snow fencing to prevent the formation of large snow drifts. Also discusses types of snow molds, favorable conditions for snow mold, identification of snow mold, and what to do after snow mold occurs. |
