| Abstract/Contents: | Summarizes progress made by the Wisconsin Turfgrass Breeding Program in 1998. This included collection of creeping bentgrass samples that are potentially resistant to snow mold, screening clones of the samples for true resistance, and collection and observation of Poa annua for seed production. Plans for next year include further testing of the creeping bentgrass samples for snow mold resistance, aggressiveness against Poa annua, and tolerance to low mowing height and moderate traffic; and further testing of the seed producing lines of Poa annua for turf quality, traffic tolerance, disease resistance, and persistence. |
