Abstract/Contents:Suggests that bermudagrass can be used on putting greens if can be used on putting greens if it is cut low enough. Reviews what it would take to produce a consistent championship green conditioning and the benefits of using bermudagrass for the putting greens. The basic ingredents for it are a low mowing height, the growth of healthy turf, and a capability and the willingness for work. In order for the grass to grow fast, the grass must be fed. A nitrogen-to-potassium fertilizer is recommended and so is controlling the thatch. Surface grooming such as verticutting only needs be done once or twice during a season. Topdressing is a program that can be used to improve the smoothness of the surface and increase the speed on the green. Surface rolling is also recommended to smooth the surface of a green.
