Abstract/Contents: | Describes how water conservation in plants is an important factor to consider when choosing a turfgrass. There were three turfgrasses used in this experiment. They were bermudagrass, tall fescue and zoysiagrass. The turfgrasses were grown using the line source sprinkler irrigation system, and their performance was compared under different water distribution treatments. Also discusses the minimum water requirements and the relative drought resistance for each of the three turfgrasses. Explores the differences in turf quality, clipping yield, spring green-up, turf ground cover and weed and disease invasion under each irrigation treatment. |
