| Abstract/Contents: | Attempts to determine an appropriate combination of winter covers and soil heating for bermudagrass, with heating costs at minimum. Covers used included Evergreen winter covers, Tyvek, and straw, alone and in combination. Plots were heated at 15, 10, and 4^DDC and left unheated. Data collected included turf temperature and survival rates. Data was considered inconclusive because of extremely mild weather conditions and because the plots had been overseeded with perennial ryegrass prior to shipping. Further research is expected to achieve valid results. |
