Abstract/Contents: | Provides an answer to the question: With the 1998 summer from hell behind us, what tips to you have on growing bentgrass in the Carolinas? Describes the minimum requirements for club managers, greens committees, or board members considering growing bentgrass. Requirements include: a knowledgeable superintendent, a competent crew, an altered microenvironment surrounding the greens, proper initial construction of the greens, use of fungicides, routine thatch reducing management practices, an ample source of clean water, an on-site bentgrass nursery, money, and cooperative weather. |
