| Abstract/Contents: | "Environmental rhetoricians in the United States and turf specialists in the United Kingdom have recently begun touting the purported benefits of Scottish and English golf turf maintenance practices." In comparing the golf courses in the United Kingdom to those in the United States, Beard shows how the two countries' courses are different in many areas. Such areas include disease problems, pest control, traffic intensity, and maintenance procedures. Beard suggests ways to come close to getting the 'best' system for a golf course, and possible problems that may persist due to a system like this. |
