Abstract/Contents:Details the research on the physiology of winter injury in Poa annua (annual bluegrass) as well as Agrostis palustris. The study observed how lethal temperatures in winter affected both of these grasses. Soil temperature, crown hydration and the relationship to the changes in hardiness during the hardening process in the fall were also evaluated. The combination of soil temperature and crown hydration needed to cause rapid dehardening in the sping was also investigated.
