Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study done evaluating the level of mercury in golf course soils and greens. The mercury was a result of mercurial fungicide residues. Fresh grass clippings and soil samples were collected and submitted for lechate testing to determine whether the mercury levels were high enough to be considered hazardous waste. Seven golf courses from various regions in Alberta, with differing soil types and mercurial history were asked to participate in the study. Results showed that mercury analysis in the clipping and soil samples were relatively high. |
