Abstract/Contents:Reports the results of a study evaluating various grasses grown under low maintenance conditions. The low maintenance study was done using no irrigation, no fertilizer, minimal mowing and minimal pesticide application. Ten individual and ten mixtures of grass species were seeded in two different locations and were evaluated for establishment, general turf qualities, weed encroachment, drought tolerance and height measurements. A correlation was found between weed density and area cover showing that grasses with higher area cover ratings generally had fewer weeds.
