Abstract/Contents:Outlines a study done to determine the effects of pH and nitrogen on cotula growth in soil. Discusses the results found on species composition, stolon length, stolon weight, relative stolon thickness, root development, dry matter yields of clippings, leaf nodes, and leaf erectness. It was concluded that pH and nitrogen have effect on stolon characteristics; that the optimum pH for stolon development was between 5.8 and 6.8; and that cotula maintained at a pH between 5.8 and 6.8 with minimal nitrogen will yield the best playing surface.
