Abstract/Contents:Describes how players of all different sports prefer to play on natural grass. Discusses the problem associated with having real grass, such as footing in wet weather, which is hazardous to the player and the turf. Discusses the option of adding silt and clay to the sand and the problem associated with it. Also Turfgrids can be added to increase the load bearing capacity without causing harm to the turf. Discusses how Turfgrids can be used on horse tracks which makes the races more evenly matched and reduces injuries to the horse. Football, baseball and soccer are not much different from horse racing in terms of damage to the turf. Cleats worn by the players will cause the same amount of damage as a horse's hoofs will. Describes some of the benefits of Turfgrids, such as how they are inexpensive and easy to install.
