| Abstract/Contents: | A mixed stand of red fescue ( Festuca rubra L. 'Pennlawn') and Colonial bentgrass (Agrostis tenuis Sibth. 'Exeter') was treated with mefluidide, MH, MH plus CF, or combinations of mefluidide with PP333 or EL500. Combinations of mefluidide with PP333 or EL500 were the most effective treatments in reducing shoot growth. All treatments resulted in excellent suppression of bentgrass seedheads, however, only MH and MH plus CF provided lasting control of red fescue seedheads. Turf injury was minimal and considered to be within acceptable limits for roadside turf. PP333 and EL500 appeared to provide preemergent crabgrass (Digitaria spp. ) control. |
