| Abstract/Contents: | Several herbicides were applied sequentially at various rates to evaluate the tolerance of Seaside creeping bentgrass to herbicides. Dicamba-DMA, dicamba-Na and experimental product CN10-4359T were applied at single application rates of 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, and 1.0 lb. a.i./A was also included. Treatments were made May 25, June 23, August 3, and September 9, 1982. Materials were applied sequentially, initially to the entire plot, then to 3/4, 1/2, 1/4 on subsequent dates. This corresponds with having 1x, 2x, 3x, and 4x rates of the single application. To assess the herbicide effects visual quality ratings were taken within 10 days of treatment. From this study it can be concluded that standard recommended rates of 0.25 lb. a.i./A of dicamba even when applied 4 times during the year caused little or no observable damage to Seaside creeping bentgrass. However, higher rates did cause a reduction of quality and in many cases, unacceptable quality turfgrass. |
