Abstract/Contents: | The arthropods and nematodes feeding on the world's worst perennial weeds are discussed on the basis of annotated bibliographies prepared by the author and other workers on weeds as reservoirs for organisms affecting crops. Sixty families of plants were represented by the weeds reportedly serving as food-plants of arthropods affecting crops, while more than 70 families of arthropods affecting crops were reported as feeding on weeds. Cyperus rotundus has been reported as a host of 7 species of arthropods affecting crops, Cynodon dactylon of 11 species, Sorghum halepense of 7 species, Imperata cylindrica of 5 species, Convolvulus arvensis of 7 species and Cyperus esculentus of 4 species. |
