| Abstract/Contents: | Presents the results of a study examining the fate of three fungicides, triadimefon, metalaxyl and iprodione, applied to the turfgrass canopy. Clippings were collected and examined for fungicide concentration in order to determine the rate of dissipation of fungicides. Fungicide mineralization by microorganisms was also examined. The combination of turfgrass environment and frequent clipping removal led to a relatively short dissipation time for the fungicides. There was little evidence of microbial mineralization of fungicides, suggesting that the turfgrass canopy may be a relatively unfavorable environment for the microbes responsible for this process. |
