Abstract/Contents:"Repeated applications of five turfgrass fungicides were tested for 'preventive' and 'curative' control of algal crusts on a Tifgreen bermudagrass green. Treatment effectiveness was evaluated by algae surface color change (0-4 max) over a nine-week period. Daconil Weatherstick® (4 oz/1000ft²) applied weekly, provided the greatest level of algae control of the ISK Bioscience® preventive treatments, while Kocide 2000® (16oz/1000ft²) provided the greatest overall control of algal crusts. Both Kocide 2000® and Cinnacure® 20EC (22oz/1000ft²) were slightly phytotoxic to the overseeded ryegrass, while Cinnacure® 20EC (45oz/1000ft²) was very phytotoxic to the over-seeded ryegrass within hours of the initial application."
