Abstract/Contents:Golf course architect Bill Coore comments on David's Field's column, "Why signature holes?" published in a previous issue of Southern Golf. Coore agrees with Field in the belief that "signature holes" on golf courses are a marketing ploy and that a good golf course should consist of an overall balanced design where all holes contribute.
