Abstract/Contents:"It was the intent of this study to evaluate the irrigation risk as related to variety and turf competition when using the row-planting method of establishment." A table records data on percent establishment of two bermudagrass varieties planted with a row planter on 6/22/92. "Although rainfall precluded the study of the irrigation effects on establishment, it is evident that bermuda under these circumstances can be successfully established when using the row-planting method without irrigation. Although the tilled plots established much quicker, both the tilled and Roundup treated plots became established during one season and the untreated plots required less than one year to fully establish."
