Abstract/Contents:Presents a study evaluating cultivars of tall fescue. The tests, which began in 1988, were conducted at Spindletop Research Farm near Lexington, KY. Forty-eight named and experimental varieties of Festuca arundinacea were seeded in six replications. Three of these were maintained at 1.5 inches; the others were maintained at 3.0 inches mowing height. Nitrogen was applied annually in the fall and early winter, at the rate of 3lb/1000ft². Two tables of quality evaluation values are included with the article: the first table corresponds with the 1.5 inch mowing height, and the second with the 3.0 inch mowing height.
