| Abstract/Contents: | Details investigation of chlorpyrifos efficacy against chinchbugs (Blissus leucopterus spp.) in larger lawn areas. Includes three tables detailing lawns tested, and results of treated vs. untreated lawns. "Control of chinchbug and chinchbug damage after the April 14 application was excellent through July and August. Reinfestation of treated lawns occurred in late August but only when adjacent infested lawns were not treated." Authors suggest that lack of damage to reinfested turf was due to natural mortality in the chinchbug population from infection by the entomophagus fungus Bovaria sp. |
