Abstract/Contents: | Describes physiological reasons why bentgrass suffers from summer heat stress. Details tactics for manipulating the plant's environment to relieve some of the stress: proper greens construction, encouraging air movement, and syringing. Also addresses cultural practices which can help: increased mowing height, adequate nitrogen levels, modified irrigation, and selection of heat-tolerant cultivars. |
