Abstract/Contents: | Six mulches (cypress, eucalyptus, pine bark, pine needles, melaleuca and utility trimmings) were evaluated for various quality parameters including nutrient content, decomposition, allelopathy, acidification, and color. A summary of test results for each mulch characteristic is presented. Based on combined test results, cypress, melaleuca and pine bark were named the "best all-around mulches," but specific characteristics of some of the other mulches might make them more appropriate for specific situations. |
