Abstract/Contents:"Proper management of seashore papsalum is essential for achieving high quality performance. Herbicide usage differs significantly from those that can be safely and judiciously used on other warm season turfgrasses. Fungicide use will be minimal on this environmentally friendly grass. Ocean water or recycled water can be used for irrigation on this salt-tolerant turf. Nitrogen fertility rates should not exceed 24g/m² annually and can be reduced to less than half that amount when ocean water is used for irrigation. Optimum mowing heights should range from 3-13mm for highest turf quality and the most dense canopy. Verticutting or slicing must be used regularly in the management program. Overhead costs for long-term management of papsalum for recreational turf is less than most other warm season grasses."
