| Abstract/Contents: | "A trial was conducted to investigate the beneficial role of Primo in alleviating turf (Penncross creeping bentgrass) stress caused by high salinity soils. Key results include: •Small improvements in turf quality were seen in Primo treated plots, although significantly different results were only observed at the 0.5 oz/1000 sq ft rate of Primo on one evaluation date, 7 weeks after treatment. •Significant reductions in clipping weights were observed 2 weeks after treatment at the 0.5 oz/1000 sq ft rate of Primo, but by 4 weeks after treatment, no treatment differences could be observed. This residual activity pattern, with loss of activity observed by 4 weeks after treatment, is somewhat typical for these rates of Primo, as has been observed in previous studies on kikuyugrass. •Primo applications did not produce significantly beneficial effects on stressed bentgrass grown under high salinity conditions." |
