Abstract/Contents: | "The application and final preparation of the soil is of critical importance to the future good performance of the turf." Warns against haste in seed sowing and suggests when levelling should occur. Recommends that turfgrass seeds be sown before the end of March (in New Zealand) at a rate of 25 g/² (3/4 oz./yd²). Provides proper planting times, depth, and rolling times for Cotula greens. States that frequent irrigation is needed for the first 3 weeks; after 3 to 4 weeks, 20 kg of Nitrolime and 15 kg superphosphate should be applied. Advises that the first mowing should be done when the height reaches 44mm (1 3/4 in.). As for Cotula, little mowing will be required before spring. |
