Abstract/Contents:States that the main bases for Cotula green fertilizer recommendations are knowledge of the natural conditions under which Cotula grows; soil test results for pH, calcium, phosphorus and potassium; observations of the thrift of Cotula bowling greens under known fertilizer treatments, and acceptance of a certain condition on types of Cotula growth for an ideal bowling surface. Discusses phosphorus levels, potash levels, sulfur, magnesium, and nitrogen requirements. Recommendations are as follows: to each full-sized green apply sulfate of ammonia at 18-20kg in March or April and again in May and Mid-August, apply lime at 55kg (sandy soils) to 80kg (silt or clay soils) in two dressings in June and July, apply super or other phosphate based on soil test results and only if levels are 8 or less, if potassium levels are 8 or less, apply sulfate or muriate of potash at 15 kg per green in August and early October."
