Abstract/Contents: | Provides the author's comments on the report "Diminishing Returns:Salmon Decline and Pesticides", published by the Oregon Pesticide Education Network (O.P.E.N.) This group is taking steps toward "balancing economic interests with environmental protection." Examines the validity of the risk assessment techniques used by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Agrees that there is "no plausible basis for considering current pesticide use in Oregon as a causative factor in salmon population decline." |
