| Abstract/Contents: | Summarizes developments in bermudagrass improvement since the 1960s. Describes current activities in bermudagrass experimental development, and profiles some of the more interesting new seeded and vegetative varieties. Suggests possible avenues for future research. Lists quality, color, and density ratings from an evaluation by Seeds West, Inc. at the Maricopa Agricultural Center in Maricopa, AZ. The ratings are provided for for 20 seeded bermudagrass varieties and experimentals, as well as Tifway, Tifgreen, and Midiron. Also displays mean turf ratings for 13 varieties of bermudagrass used in a turf trial near Rolesville, NC. |
