Abstract/Contents: | The pattern of weed control and crop tolerance was similar for the first four herbicides. In soil-persistence tests with RP 20810, Poa trivialis grew normally at 9 weeks after application at 0.125 and 0.5 kg/ha, and at 18 weeks after application at 2.0 kg/ha; persistence of oxadiazon was greater, with a fresh weight reduction in white clover of 60 and 93% at 0.5 and 2.0 kg/ha after 45 weeks. Chlornitrofen showed similar persistence to oxadiazon. With nitrofen and flamprop-isopropyl higher rates of application (8 kg/ha) were necessary to give fresh weight reduction in P.trivialis in excess of 90% after 45 weeks. |
