| Abstract/Contents: | C14-methyl glyphosate was used to study penetration of glyphosate through isolated quackgrass cuticles with 4 glyphosate and 5 surfactant concentrations. The effects of temperature were also investigated. Movement of glyphosate through the cuticles against time was found to be linear in this system. Glyphosate concentration increases produced an almost linear increase in movement across the cuticle. Surfactant concentration increases produced slight increases in glyphosate movement across the cuticle. However, these increases were statistically insignificant. There also appeared to be some temperature differences. Translocation of the labeled glyphosate to the quackgrass reproductive tissues was also measured to determine the amount of increase resulting from increased glyphosate and surfactant concentrations. |
