Abstract/Contents: | Describes the problem of acidity in mulch, which occurs when the mulch is piled too high, causing mulch deep in the pile to ferment. Suggests keeping mulch piles under ten feet high to avoid compaction, which ultimately can lead to fermentation. Also recommends adding water and/or lime to return the mulch to a usable form. |
