Abstract/Contents: | Comments on the amount of money spent by the USGA - Green Section to document the impact of golf on the environment. A study conducted in the Pacific Northwest examined fertilizer types, timing of application, amounts of material applied, cultural practices, and the environmental events that affect the leaching and run-off fertilizers from golf courses. Also discusses the effects of water quality on salmon recovery in the Pacific Northwest. Emphasizes that the golf industry is just as concerned with these issues as the public. |
