Abstract/Contents: | Discusses methods of mechanical aeration, including spiking, coring, dethatching, and sub-airing. Defines aeration as "any cultivation of the soil which permits more oxygen in the growing area of turf." States that "mechanical aeration will continue to be necessary to promote the growth of better turf in...high-rise areas." Concludes that "the goal [of mechanical aeration] is minimum maintenance, with maximum results to the turf and the least amount of disruption of play or appearance." |
