| Abstract/Contents: | "Bermudagrass is the most commonly cultivated warm-season turfgrass in North Central Texas. Even as the most popular grass, bermudagrass has lower drought and cold tolerance than many zoysiagrasses or buffalograsses. Breeders are concerned with developing drought-, cold-, insect-, and disease-tolerant, low maintenance bermudagrasses that have superior turf quality. The objective of the study was to evaluate the overall field performance of the 26 entries in the 1992 NTEP Bermudagrass Trial, with emphasis on spring greenup, fall green cover retention, and overall turf quality of the entries. Individual components of the turf quality will be considered along with some basic morphological information and culm production." |
