Abstract/Contents:Discusses an experiment designed to "determine the time required to produce Kentucky bluegrass or bluegrass, ryegrass mixture sod using RILS vs. conventional sod production techniques, investigate the use of various composts and their effect on production time using RILS, and determine if the season of the year has an effect in the time required to produce a harvestable sod using RILS." Results indicate that "in general, all RILS treatments resulted in harvestable sod in 4 to 14 weeks....In contrast, conventional sod production technology (soil) required at least 50 weeks to produce a harvestable sod."
