Abstract/Contents:"Field trials were used to evaluated the efficacy and phytotoxicity of the quaternary ammonium algicide Algaen-X® (Consan 20®) on an overseeded bermudagrass green. All Algaen-X® treatments showed varying degrees of algal death within 24 hours after application. Algae samples taken from replicate field plots treated with Algaen-X® (0.44oz/10ft²) and placed in a nutrient solution for 12-days demonstrated no algae regrowth. Dithane® M-45 applied as a spray had little effect on algae control. None of the treatments in this study caused visible phytotoxicity to the overseeded bermudagrass green."
